Pregnancy Reflexology and preparing for the birth

Reflexology is a non intrusive complementary treatment that works along side conventional medicine. It is based on the theory that zones on the feet correspondence to areas of the body. It is a natural therapy involving no medication or drugs. The treatment also includes Chakra Balancing

Pregnancy reflexology has many benefits particularly earlier in your pregnancy as it may help to improve your overall well-being.  I am  fully qualified and insured for your first trimester.

During pregnancy you will go through different stages that can affect you emotionally.  Research has shown that regular reflexology during your journey can help create a feeling of deep physical and mental relaxation.

Reflexology will not induce childbirth but it can help you prepare for a natural birth by promoting deep physical and mental relaxation.  A relaxed mum is a happy baby!

Research evidence suggests that pregnancy reflexology will shorten the duration of labour and require less pain relief. See below for more research info.

At least four treatments proceeding up to the birth is advisable to get the best benefits. Block booking is advisable to ensure you get a regular appointment.  If four treatments are booked as a gift to you I offer a free post natal treatment which is to be taken within the first month of the birth of your child. As this treatment will be very relaxing it could help assisting in breastfeeding/lactation and hormonal balance.

As a matter of courtesy I do like your midwife to be notified that you are receiving a treatments. Midwifes are usually very supportive of this treatment unless they have health concerns around your pregnancy.

For an appointment please email, ring 07814 599 216 or book on line.
